TG SERIES POWERFLEX™ PTO

The TG Prowerflex™ PTO is the workhorse of the Muncie PTO system. The TG's flexible design permits a wide variety of PTO/transmission applications with a simple inventory.

The TG has the speed and torque range of 10 PTOs all in one housing. It is possible to assemble PTOs that cover capacities from 33 to 54 hp @ 1000 RPM and torques from 175to 285 lb. ft. with speeds to 2500 RPM. You can choose between the six or eight bolt mounting. Accommodating any transmission is as accomplished with more than 50 available input gears. There are 12 output shaft options which allow direct coupling of most truck hydraulic pumps. The advantage of the Powerflex™ is the commonality of components. Including the standardized shifter covers resulting in fewer cover assemblies. One cable shift cover or two air shift cover assemblies fit all assemblies and speed ranges. The Muncie Powerflex™ is available in ten different speed rations. Added together, the list of options total more than 100,000 different combinations - all from the same TG Series PTO.

Easier Installation due to a reduced overall size means fewer frame interference problems. The lighter aluminum housing significantly reduces weight and provides for better sound diffusion.

This Innovative approach to the TG Series design has made products improvements and additions simple.

An Example is the Lectra Shift PTO option. The TG Lectra Shift is the first PTO where the user simply flips an electrical switch to engage the PTO without hydraulic or air pressure. The Muncie TG Lectra Shift gives you the feel of an air shift PTO without air line hook up. This means no more air lines tapped into the truck system for PTO applications and no more shifting problems due to contaminated or frozen air lines. The Lectra Shift option is available on all TG Series, speed rations and assembly arrangements. It is the easiest to install and requires no control cables, levers, or an air source.

SIX SHIFTING CHOICES

To add to its versatility the Muncie Powerflex™ PTO can be shifted by the Lectra Shift Electric Solenoid, cable controls, levers, air, and (using the air cover) by electric/air or on some applications by electric/hydraulic. SG SERIES
Single Gear PTO

Muncie's single gear PTO covers a wide variety of light to medium duty capacities. More than strong enough for farm bodies, tow trucks, fuel trucks, dump bodies, utility trucks, aerial baskets. Up to 25 HP at 1000 RPM. Torque to 130 lb. ft. Speeds to 2500 RPM. Improved gear design means quieter operation with no gear chattering.

Lightweight aluminum housing in a reduced size that simplifies installation. Stronger caged roller bearings stand up to greater side loads. Cable or lever shifting. Packed with all mounting parts, including an in-dash positive indicator light.

Two Gear - Single Speed
High Torque - High HP

A Heavy duty, cast iron PTO for applications on Jet Aircraft Refueling Pumps, High HP Air Compressors, Large Garbage Packers, Construction Cranes. Torque rating (intermitted) to 500 lb. ft. Horsepower rating (intermittent) to 95 HP. Standard model has lever shift and 1 1/2 - 10T spline output shaft complete with companion flange adaptable to Spicer 1410 Series driveline. Also available in SAE B and SAE C pump mounts, air shift, pressure lube, and four assembly arrangements. Positive indicator switch. Five different speed rations; seven different gear pitches.

REVERSIBLE PTOS

Muncie's reversible SAE 6 bolt PTOs are designed for heavy duty operation to drive winches and reversible products pumps. Available in units with one speed forward, one speed reverse; or two speeds forward, one speeds reverse. Torque ratings (intermittent) 140 to 210 lb. ft., depending on type.

Muncie 8 bolt reversibles, designed for oil rigs, refueling pumps, cranes, etc., have a torque rating (intermittent) to 500 lb. ft., with a horsepower rating (intermittent) to 95 HP.

ADAPTER GEAR ASSEMBLIES

There are 31 different adapter gear assemblies available from Muncie Power Products to make your PTO installation fit a specific need of your application or to allow standard PTOs to be used on various foreign transmissions.

There are adapter gear assemblies which will change the direction of rotation of the output shaft, move the output shaft location to avoid obstructions, or reach non-standard drive gear locations.

CS6S AND CS8S SERIES
Clutch Shift PTOS

For SAE 6 and 8 bolt Automatic and Manual transmissions.

Muncie's Electric/Air PTO provides in-dash control power shifting for SAE Allison transmissions and many manual transmissions. The Clutch Shift can be hydraulically shifted on Allison, Fuller, Jatco automatic transmissions if air is not available.

7 internal ratio choices with torques to 350 lb. ft. 6 output shaft options for most hydraulic pump connections.

With a maximum of 2500 RPM it can handle higher speeds, higher torque and HP capacities than other designs. Direct mount flanges on all series are 360 degree rotatable with multiple mounting locations for easier pump mounting. Clutch Shift PTOs are provided with complete activation and mounting kits. The CS Series is the only PTO with a patented internal drag brake to assist in the stopping of the disengaged output shaft. Available in both 12 and 24-bolt.

ALLISON WORLD TRANSMISSION PTOS

Muncie is a recognized supplier of PTOs by Allison Transmission Division for their World Transmission series of automatic transmissions. These PTOs include the CD10 Series of constant mesh PTOs, the CS10 and CS20 Series of shiftable PTOs.

The CD10 constantly engaged PTO and the CS10 Clutch Shaft are heavy duty PTOs with 5 speed rations and 4 output shaft configurations, including the SAE "C" and SAE "B" for direct mount pumps. The standard 1 1/4" round and 1410 Series remote drives are also available. The CD10 is rated from 310 and 400 lb. ft. and the CS10 is rated from 385 to 500 lb. ft. to handle your toughest requirements.

The CS20 Clutch Shift is available with 5 internal rations and 6 output shaft configurations, including the SAE "B" (2 bolt or 2 & 4 bolt mounts), SAE "B-B", SAE "A", and the non-standard 4 bolt mount. The standard 1 1/4" round shaft is available for remote shaft installations. The CS20 is smaller in size for easier installations, but can handle torques from 285 to 325 lb. ft. Direct mount flanges on the series are 360 degree rotatable with multiple mounting locations for easier pump mounting. Clutch Shift PTOs have integral shift solenoids and are provided with complete activation and mounting kits. The CS Series is the only PTO with a patented internal drag brake to eliminate unwanted "no load" shaft rotation.
